Snider .577 Breech loading Cavalry Carbine issued to the Natal Volunteers by V&R Blakemore. Shows Natal Volunteers number and evidence of battle use, at some point the metal parts have gotten so hot that they have blackened the surrounding wooden areas and created a split in the stock.
This gun was very likely used in the Anglo-Zulu War.
