Wonderful Cape Buffalo powder horn, hand engraved with the image of a lion and the inscription '1857 Cape Colony', possibly intended to comemmorate a hunting trip.  Large size, and in very good condition with inlays, brass fitting and leather sling. It also retains its original end cap.
A rare and beautiful momento of the Old Cape.
