Original 24th regiment glengarry cap badge, pressed with vertical lugs – one of which is missing. Looks to have had some light cleaning a long time ago and comes with an oldish mid-century collectors label which reads: 'Regimental Ta(*)lor, casualty Rorkes Drift 1879'. 
The Label is not backed up by any provenance and we include it purely for interest.
The 24th Regiment of Foot are the most famous regiment of the Zulu War, due to their tragic losses at Isandlwana and the victory at Rorkes Drift.
